Getting Started with fingerprint jewellery
In order to get started you will need a few tools and materials.
You will need some 999 fine silver clay such as Art Clay or PMC3

Tools
2 part Moulding compound
A solid non stick surface, such as a smooth tile or a teflon sheet on a solid base.
Acrylic Roller
Spacers or playing cards
Small cutter or stencil template.
A needle tool
Scribe (and optional burnisher)
1.5mm drill bit (and optional pin vice)
Sanding sponges, at least 3 grits. I recommend 800, 1000 and 1200 or 1500
A gas torch
A fibre block
Brass brush (medium)
Agate brunisher
Mug or bowl of cool water
Mug or bowl of hot water
Liver of sulphur (liquid or gel)
Paint brush
Easy Solder paste
Silver polish (such as glynol)
Soft polishing cloth

This is the bare minimum of materials you will need, you will also see some other tools used in my videos which are optional and just make life a little easier. Don't feel that you need to buy absolutely everything all at once, I have many tools that I use for various things but I have gathered them in my tool box over a number of years!

Stage 1: Wet clay
Learn how to handle the wet clay, roll it perfectly evenly and add your fingerprint or handprint impression.
You can also add optional personalisation at this stage.
Cut and shape your clay using cutters.
Once you have done that, your clay needs to dry. I will discuss different options for drying including air drying (no equipment necessary), oven drying, hot plate and dehydrators.
